Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Bedside is an educational tool that helps medical students practice clinical reasoning on synthetic, fictional cases. It is not a clinical or diagnostic product, and it does not handle real patient data (no PHI). This policy explains what we collect and why. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
What we collect
- Account info — your email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your name and profile picture.
- Study activity — your answers, scores, progress, and the practice content you interact with, so we can save your progress across devices.
- Technical data — basic request/usage logs and an anonymous device identifier used to keep your progress before you sign in.
Signing in with Google
If you choose “Continue with Google,” we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account ID. We request only basic profile scopes (openid, email, and profile) and use this data solely to create and secure your account and sign you in. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google data. You can disconnect Bedside from your Google account at any time in your Google security settings.
What we do NOT collect
No real patient data, no protected health information (PHI), and no sensitive medical records. All clinical cases in Bedside are synthetic and fictional.
If you believe you have accidentally entered identifiable patient data, email us at bedsidesupport@gmail.com and we will prioritize deleting it.
How we use it
To run the product: authenticate you, save and sync your study progress, generate and score practice cases, and keep the service secure and within usage limits.
Service providers we share data with
We use trusted infrastructure providers to operate Bedside:
- Supabase — database & authentication.
- Resend — sending sign-in and account emails.
- Anthropic & OpenRouter — the AI models that power practice cases and tutoring (we send the case/study text, not your identity, to generate responses).
- Hosting & CDN providers — to serve the app and assets.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International data transfers
Bedside is operated from Pakistan, and our service providers may process and store data in other countries (such as the United States and the European Union). By using Bedside, you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
Data retention & your rights
We keep your account and study data while your account is active. You can request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time by emailing us — we'll remove your account and associated study records.
Age requirement
Bedside is intended for medical students and trainees and is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old to use it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Bedsideevolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
